Why this theme has a travel section at all
Resumés compress people into bullets. A travel log does the opposite — it’s the only part of a personal site that gets more interesting over time, because it accumulates stories instead of job titles.
We travel not to escape life, but for life not to escape us.
This section of the theme exists because the best personal sites I’ve stumbled across all had one thing in common: they showed what the person was like when they weren’t working. Photos from a trip say more than any “passionate engineer” line ever will.
The mechanics are simple — drop photos in a folder, list them in a markdown file, get a carousel with a lightbox. The hard part is remembering to take the camera out of your pocket.
